Message	Its similar vein to the racing supra, which had the 4cyl 3s-gte engine, from the WRC developed engine. 3S-gte comes from celica GT4 or MR2 turbo, oh how the mighty 6 cyl had fallen, hehehe. Just cos an engine is smaller doesnt mean it cant be tuned and be more powerful, lighter and reliable. Supra being the ideal case, Toyota deemed the 4cyl engine to be better suited to racing over the 6cyl in the road car.
